Holiday calendar of Chinese New Year of 2018
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is the most celebrated festival in the Chinese calendar. It’s not only the most important holiday in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, but is also influential in areas with major Chinese Diasporas such as Singapore or China towns in other countries.
The Chinese New Year of 2018 falls on February 16th (Friday), and the festival will last to March 2nd, about 15 days in total.
The main theme of Spring Festival is family reunion. As an official public holiday, Chinese people can get seven days' absence from work, from February 15th to 21st. But at least one week before the New Year’s Day until up to 15 days afterwards, most factories and many companies or vendors will close since the employees will go back to their hometown in other provinces. Please arrange your visits accordingly or at least confirm the companies you are about to visit to.
